From the Author

I have been the team chaplain for the Illawarra Hawks since 2018.

The Illawarra Hawks are a professional basketball team in the National Basketball League (NBL) located in my hometown in Wollongong, NSW Australia. I am one of the senior pastors at Lighthouse Church and an accredited Sports Chaplain with Chaplaincy Australia.

I don’t believe faith in God is reserved for only some spaces in our society or only certain times in our lives and this booklet serves as an encouragement to elite & aspiring athletes everywhere to integrate their faith into every aspect of life.

As part of my role as the team chaplain of the Hawks I lead a pre-game prayer time. Players are invited to share in a brief moment with me where we pray and read an encouragement from the bible before they take the court.
